We work with an Environmental Impact Measurement (EIM) system – specific for the garment industry, it’s been developed to monitor the environmental impact of finishing processes of jeans (of which, there can be a lot!).
The EIM report assesses the environmental impact of jeans by measuring things like water, energy, and chemical consumption - and then compares the results against a defined environmental benchmark. From there, as a retailer –we receive the EIM score for our denim that you see above.
Not only does doing this testing ensure we’re on the right track now, but how we can improve on what we’re doing going forward.
Repreve™ is made with recycled plastic bottles, and is a great way to divert plastic from our landfills. The production of recycled polyester requires far fewer resources than that of new fibres, and generates fewer CO2 emissions.
