Women’s Cropped Pants and Capris

Let’s get on top of the crops. Cropped pants are simply a staple. And so are capris, to be honest. No wardrobe is complete without them. But what’s the difference between crop pants and capris? Women's cropped pants usually hit just above the ankle (which is why they’re also called ankle pants). Capris land higher, usually around the calf or halfway between your knee and ankle.

From flowy to fitted, there are women’s capri pants in every silhouette. Wide leg capris, especially the pull-on variety (sometimes also called gaucho pants), will serve you well in the summer. They’re drapey and spacious, giving you plenty of room to move and breathe.

Favour more fitted options? Then leg-lengthening skinny capris are a must have. They can also work as capri dress pants, perfect for a polished summer look. Black capri pants are another great option for the office. For casual looks you also might want to add a pair of jean capris to your collection. Denim capris are great for work or weekend, especially when paired with sneakers or chunky sandals. If you want the jean look with extra comfort, capri jeggings can be your little secret.

Crop pants for women are capris’ longer length cousin, and they come in just as many silhouettes. Wide leg cropped pants also get called palazzo pants, flood pants, or culottes. They’re billowy and breezy for hot summer days or weekend getaways. Wide leg crop pants like these tend to pair well with sandals or sneakers. Keep an eye out for linen crop pants if you’re looking to beat the heat. Slim and skinny cropped pants are also known as cigarette pants or carrot pants. They’re a good match for polished looks at the office or professional mixers, especially with loafers or pumps. Then of course you might want some ankle jeans for more casual looks. These ladies’ cropped jeans go well with boots or chunky leather shoes, even in the winter. Need some shorter pants? This is your sign to shop for some crops.
