I tried to adjust it but that didnt work. I do like the size and I love the fact that it has a drawstring inside to keep my belongings inside. I was really excited to add this bag to my collection of straw totes ( I have Rickis last years version, love it!!), but this bag disappointed me. Maybe i I just received a defective one. I wish now I had seen it in store before buying. But I did get it at a semi-decent price.
