I bought a large in the striped pattern (I'm normally a 10-12 for bottoms (5'6" ~165lbs pear-shaped)) and yikes...this was not flattering on me. It was too big and the white lining was seen through the striped overlay. It was returned - one of those things that was cute online and on the hanger but not for me!
