1 in 7 women in Canada live in poverty

When women are poor, so are their children... and the cycle continues. Help us End Poverty for Women. The Canadian Women's Foundation is Canada's first and only national public foundation for women and girls. The Foundation is dedicated to preventing violence against women, building the self-esteem of girls and helping low-income women out of poverty.

Money raised by Ricki's in partnership with the Canadian Women's Foundation helps women out of poverty by funding programs across the country that delivers skills and employment training to low income women. Monies also assist with food, shelter, child care, transportation and other basic needs so that these women can participate in training programs.

Our campaign is about giving her a hand up - not a hand out. When we give women the skills and training they need to achieve economic independence we are transforming her life and those of her children. Each of us can help make a difference in a women's life and help end the cycle of poverty.
